Galatasaray become the team with the most wins in Super Lig history

Galatasaray set a significant record in Super Lig history with their 2-1 win over Fenerbahce. By defeating their fierce rivals, the Yellow-Reds raised their total number of league wins to 1,315, moving ahead of Fenerbahce in that category. The lead in the long-running race for victories in the Super Lig, which began in 1959, has thus changed hands. With the three points from the derby, Galatasaray both consolidated their place at the top and earned the title of the team with the most wins in the league's history.

In the 2,275 matches they have played in Super Lig history, Galatasaray have recorded 1,315 wins, 555 draws and 405 defeats. Fenerbahce, from the same number of games, sit just behind with 1,314 wins, 586 draws and 375 defeats. With the derby victory, the gap in wins between the two sides has become one in Galatasaray's favour.

In the clash at RAMS Park, Galatasaray beat Fenerbahce 2-1 thanks to two goals from Victor Osimhen. Irfan Can Kahveci scored the only goal for the Yellow-Navy Blues. Before the derby, the two teams were level on 1,314 wins in Super Lig history. Galatasaray leaving the pitch with three points took them clear at the top of the historical rankings.

Although Galatasaray have moved into first place for wins, Fenerbahce remain top of the Super Lig's all-time points table. According to statistics kept since 1959, Fenerbahce lead the list with 4,528 points, with Galatasaray second on 4,500. The gap between the two arch-rivals stands at 28 points, while Besiktas are third on 4,293 points, Trabzonspor fourth on 3,123 and Bursaspor fifth on 2,191.
