Harry Kane: 'We showed our strength against Leipzig'

Bayern Munich's 6-1 thrashing of RB Leipzig was a genuine show of strength from the Bundesliga champions.
Harry Kane, who scored once and provided two assists, said the dominant football on display sent a big message for the team.
By scoring 18 goals in their first three home matches of a season, the Bavarians became the first team in Bundesliga history to do so, surpassing their own record of 17 set in 2020-21. With 17 shots on target in the match, Bayern Munich recorded their highest tally in the league since their game against Borussia Mönchengladbach in August 2022 (20).
Reflecting on the win, which came after disappointing draws with Augsburg and Viking, Kane stressed that the team needed a performance of this level.
Kane, who scored his 102nd goal in his 100th Bundesliga appearance and became the player with the most goals in his first 100 matches in the competition's history, said: "After the last two results it was important to send a clear message, and we did that from the first minute. In the last two games we also had enough chances to score and win, but we didn't get the results we wanted. With this win we kept our composure and played a flawless game from start to finish, from defence to attack. When you score six goals against an opponent like that, you can be really proud."
Luis Diaz, who scored a hat-trick, claimed his second Bundesliga hat-trick after February's 5-1 win over Hoffenheim, and was directly involved in four goals (three goals, one assist) in a league match for the first time.
Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl also praised the team's performance, saying: "It was really impressive. We were fully focused from the opening whistle and made the opponent feel the pressure. We put Leipzig under so much pressure that we forced them straight into mistakes. The scoreline was fully deserved. We'll need this consistency in the coming weeks as well."
After this emphatic victory, Bayern Munich now turn their attention to their Champions League meeting with Arsenal.
