Record-setting Osorio focused on Toronto's playoff push

Jonathan Osorio is fully focused on Toronto FC's push for the playoffs, despite making MLS history in his last outing.
Osorio netted for Toronto in their 2-1 win over D.C. United on Wednesday.
In the process, the 34-year-old became the first player in MLS history to score in 14 successive campaigns for a single club.
But Osorio, who helped Toronto win a treble, including MLS Cup, in 2017, is firmly focused on the club's push to qualify for the playoffs.
Toronto sit 11th in the Eastern Conference, though they are only two points behind the wildcard slots with two games to go in the regular season.
When asked if he was celebrating the milestone, Osorio said: "No.
"You look at it, and it's something that for sure is to be proud of, but honestly my focus right now is trying to make the playoffs for this team.
"It's great, 14 seasons, playing and being able to contribute for this club that I love; I've said it many times. But right now, my focus is just helping this team get into the playoffs.
"Our fans deserve it. These fans are one of the best in the league. They're amazing. The way they show up for the team, year in, year out, highs, lows, these fans deserve a competitive team.
"We're doing everything we can to get this team into the playoffs and to give the fans what they deserve."
Toronto take on Atlanta United this weekend.
Atlanta sit 14th in the East, well out of the playoff picture.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Atlanta United - Breel Embolo
Embolo scored Atlanta's only goal on Wednesday with an 88th-minute header.
Since the beginning of September, Embolo has scored four goals in the second half of matches, while all other Atlanta United players have three total goals in the second half in that time (excluding own goals).
Toronto FC - Josh Sargent
Sargent scored the winner on Wednesday for his ninth goal of the regular season.
He joins team-mate Daniel Salloi with nine goals this term, but no Toronto player has reached double-digit goals in a single regular season since Alejandro Pozuelo (12) and Jozy Altidore (11) both did so in 2019.
FORM AND HEAD-TO-HEAD
Their 2-1 win over D.C. marked the third time this season that Toronto won an MLS match after trailing at half-time. The Reds had two such wins over the previous four seasons combined entering 2026.
Atlanta, meanwhile, attempted 19 shots in their 2-1 loss to New York City FC while allowing just 11.
They have outshot their opponents by at least eight attempts in three of their last four matches.
And Atlanta have lost only two of their last 12 meetings with Toronto dating back to the start of the 2021 season (W5 D5), including a 2-1 road win on April 25.
However, Atlanta's only set of consecutive wins over Toronto came in the 2021 season, winning in August and October.
