Report: Fenerbahçe weigh move for Bursaspor striker Kelechi Iheanacho
According to press reports, Fenerbahçe are considering Bursaspor's Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho for January, but the foreign-player quota is an obstacle.
According to press reports, Fenerbahçe have put Bursaspor's Nigerian centre-forward Kelechi Iheanacho on their radar as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of the mid-season transfer window.
The Yellow-Navy Blues' board is reportedly assessing Iheanacho as an option for the January transfer window. However, the foreign-player quota is seen as one of the biggest obstacles to a potential deal: Fenerbahçe would need to part ways with at least one of the foreign players in their squad before they could make a concrete move. No official statement has been made by either club on the matter.
The 30-year-old forward has been drawing attention with his goalscoring form for Bursaspor in Türkiye's 1. Lig, the second tier, this season.
Iheanacho, who began his career in the Manchester City academy, joined Leicester City in 2017. After Leicester, the Nigerian striker went on to play for Sevilla and Celtic before joining Bursaspor on a free transfer.
