Fenerbahçe confirm injury details for Marco Asensio and Nathan Aké
Asensio faces around 3 months out after knee surgery, while Aké will miss the Galatasaray derby with a hamstring strain.
Fenerbahçe have issued an update on the condition of injured attacker Marco Asensio and defender Nathan Aké.
The club said Asensio, who picked up his injury during the international break, was diagnosed with a cartilage lesion in his left knee joint and has undergone successful arthroscopic surgery in Spain under the supervision of the club doctor. The Spanish star is expected to be sidelined for around 3 months, ruling him out for the rest of the first half of the season. Asensio has contributed 15 goals and 15 assists in 46 competitive appearances for Fenerbahçe so far.
The other injury news concerned Nathan Aké. The Dutch centre-back was hurt in the UEFA Champions League clash with Slavia Prague, and an MRI scan revealed a moderate strain and oedema in the hamstring of his right leg. The experienced defender is expected to need around 3 weeks of treatment and has been ruled out of the derby against Galatasaray.
