İsmail Kartal: "We Could Have Won by More, Our Plan Worked Well"

Fenerbahçe head coach İsmail Kartal spoke after his side's 3-0 win over Alanyaspor in the Süper Lig.

"We are a quality team" Touching on the depth of the squad and the contribution of the substitutes, the experienced coach said: "Every coach would be happy and proud of this. The substitutes scored in the away match at Rize too. We really are a quality team. We try to keep the motivation of every player high, whether they are playing or not. We are taking it match by match; when they get a chance, my players do their very best. With the goals, our players shook off the pressure on them. Thank God we move on with 3 points."

"We were in complete control" Kartal, who said his side dominated the game throughout, added: "We came away from the midweek European match with a painful score and we closed that chapter immediately. We had to focus on the Alanyaspor match. We talked about this game for two days; because of the heavy schedule we did detailed analysis rather than training. We explained how we could gain the upper hand on the pitch and my players executed it brilliantly. With the tremendous support and energy of our fans, we produced a very good match. We won 3-0, but it could have ended differently. We missed a penalty; apart from the opposition's long-range shots and one or two chances, we were in complete control from start to finish. My players showed great character and reaction. I congratulate all of them and thank our fans from the bottom of my heart."

"Our tactical plan worked well" Pointing to the congested fixture list, İsmail Kartal said: "This win was a big morale boost ahead of Slavia Prague and the derby in the league. Now we will concentrate on the Slavia match. We are playing every 2-3 days, which is not easy. We will prepare our players both physically and mentally and rotate by resting some names. Our tactical plans for the opponent worked very well. I congratulate my players once again."
