Borussia Dortmund captain Nico Schlotterbeck described their Bundesliga victory over Eintracht Frankfurt as "a ton of fun".
Dortmund won 1-0 at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday courtesy of Maximilian Beier's fantastic finish in the 80th minute, which also sent them top of the table.
BVB have won more Bundesliga matches (53) and home Bundesliga matches (40) against Frankfurt than against any other opponent.
Dortmund have also won 15 of their last 16 home league games against Eintracht, with the exception being a 1-2 defeat in April 2021.
Niko Kovac's side have 17 points from their opening seven games, their best start to a Bundesliga season in three years (also 17 in 2023-24); the last time they had more at this stage was in 2017-18 (19 points).
Dortmund accumulated 1.5 expected goals (xG) while restricting Frankfurt to just 0.9, with only 0.09 of that total coming in the second half.
"It was a ton of fun," Schlotterbeck told Sky Germany.
"We allowed a few chances in the first half, and then none whatsoever in the second half. We’ve now kept five clean sheets in seven games.
"If we had held on for two more minutes against Bremen, we'd be talking about six out of seven. That's really good.
"The four of us in the back work really well together. We dominated the second half and earned the win through compact defending.
"Maxi [Beier] put his quality on display. That shot into the far corner is his speciality. We're not perfect yet, but we're making progress."
Dortmund have kept five clean sheets in their first seven Bundesliga games this season, equalling their club record at this stage (also five in 2020-21).
Beier's goal was also Dortmund's fourth from a substitute in the league this season, with only RB Leipzig (seven) scoring more such goals.
