Double injury blow for Bayern Munich: Saibari and Gnabry sidelined

Bayern Munich were rocked by injuries to Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry following their 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund.

Both players were forced off during the hard-fought Bundesliga clash. Saibari left the pitch in the 29th minute, and just two minutes later Gnabry also went down injured and had to come off.

Bayern Munich announced that both players will be out for an indefinite period. Saibari, who suffered torn ligaments in his right ankle, has undergone successful surgery. Posting on social media, the Moroccan said: "The surgery went well! Now it's time to work. See you on the pitch as soon as possible!"

Serge Gnabry has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, the club has yet to issue an official update on Michael Olise, who came off during the match with a suspected muscle injury.

Saibari, who joined Bayern in the summer transfer window, had made a significant contribution with 3 goals and 3 assists in 14 appearances across all competitions. Gnabry, who has already missed 3 matches through injury this season, has managed just 1 goal in the 7 games he has played.

Ahead of the international break, the Bavarian giants face Atlético Madrid in the Champions League and Köln in the Bundesliga, with Luis Díaz, Manuel Neuer and head coach Vincent Kompany all still absent from the squad.
