Fenerbahçe reportedly turn their attention to Emre Belözoğlu

There have been significant developments in Fenerbahçe's search for a new head coach. It has been claimed that the club failed to reach an agreement with Sérgio Conceição, with whom they had been in talks for some time, and have turned their attention to Turkish head coach candidates. Emre Belözoğlu has emerged as a leading name on the board's agenda.

Snag in Conceição talks

According to a report by Sabah Spor, no agreement was reached in the talks because the Portuguese coach requested a 3.5-year contract and one of his assistants did not want to join Fenerbahçe. HT Spor also reported that the negotiations hit a snag due to changing demands between the two parties. According to information relayed by Sercan Hamzaoğlu, the preference for a Turkish head coach has been gaining ground within the Fenerbahçe board, with Aykut Kocaman and Emre Belözoğlu among the leading candidates.
