Harry Kane reveals new Bayern Munich contract is only a matter of time

Harry Kane has announced that he is "extremely close" to signing a new contract with Bayern Munich.
The 33-year-old star striker, whose current deal expires at the end of this season, is preparing to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena.
Since joining Bayern Munich ahead of the 2023-24 season, Kane has posted remarkable numbers for the Bavarian side, with 156 goals and 39 assists in 160 appearances.
61 of those goals came last season, when Bayern won the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. That tally was the highest by any player in a single season in Europe's five major leagues since Cristiano Ronaldo scored 61 goals for Real Madrid in 2014-15, and the historic campaign also earned Kane the Ballon d'Or for the first time in his career.
The England captain, who has made a fast start to this season with direct involvement in 18 goals already (10 goals, 8 assists), expects the new deal to be made official very soon.
Speaking about the process, Kane said: "I know I keep saying we're close, but now we really are extremely close. With every contract, the details are just the fine print. Most of the big issues have been resolved and we're happy with how things are going. But every contract has a number of small details that the lawyers need to work through. In short, we're now talking about days rather than weeks. From what I hear, the talks are progressing very positively, and hopefully we'll reach an agreement in the next few days."
The prolific striker has scored in every one of his last 10 Champions League appearances, and if he finds the net against Atlético Madrid he will equal Cristiano Ronaldo's Champions League record of scoring in 11 consecutive matches.
Asked whether he would like to play in LaLiga in the future, the experienced star concluded: "That opportunity never came my way. I played for Tottenham for many years and I was very happy there. When the Bayern opportunity came up, I wanted to take it. If a chance like that came along in the future, it would be great to play in LaLiga and compete against those players, but everyone's career goes in different directions."
